Tracking Success for a Veterinary PPC Campaign
Linking your Adwords account with your Google Analytics account is one of the best ways to track your success with Google Adwords. Doing so will help you analyze where visitors navigate to once they get to your website through an ad. This data will enable you to improve the effectiveness of your ads, your website, and the overall ROI of your Adwords campaign.
To begin, ensure that your Google Analytics account is set up. If you do not have a Google Analytics account yet, sign up for a free account for your veterinary practice at google.com/analytics.
Next, you will actually link your Adwords and Analytics accounts. You will need to have administrative access to both accounts that you will be linking.
Now, login to your Adwords account. Click on the “Tools and Analysis” tab. Select “Google Analytics” from the menu that drops down.
In the upper right hand corner of the gray bar, there is an “Admin” button, click on this button.
Once you are on the “Account Administration” page, simply select the Analytics account that you would like to link.
Click on“Data Sources”.
Go to the “Adwords” tab. Click “Link Accounts.”
A pop-up window will ask you to choose the profile that you intend to link. Make sure that you also select “Auto-tag my links” (see image below). By selecting auto-tagging, Analytics will start tagging your Adwords links and you will be able to track the navigation paths of visitors arriving from Adwords ads.
Congratulations, your Adwords account is now linked to your Analytics account.
